The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method which simplifies modeling data of an assembly. An apparatus which simplifies modeling data of an assembly according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a scoring unit which scores each element of the assembly according to a plurality of evaluation items, having differentially given scores; and an element removal unit which removes the element in ascending order of scores from the assembly according to a target precision of the modeling data.
