938,934. Toothed gearing. MAAG GEAR WHEEL & MACHINE CO. Ltd. June 13, 1960 [July 9, 1959], No. 20705/60. Class 80 (1). In a toothed gear having parallel driving and driven shafts 18, 15 carrying pinions 1, 14 interconnected by pinions 10-13 on two intermediate shafts 8, 9, the driving shaft 18 is free to move transversely in a plane perpendicular to the resultant R of the two toothed pressure forces Z1, Z2 between the driving pinion 1 and the two intermediate pinions 10, 11, so as to ensure that the load is transmitted equally through the two intermediate shafts. The driving shaft 18 is supported on either side of its pinion 1 by bearings 2, Fig. 1, or 23, Fig. 3, which are either pivoted at 5, Fig. 1, or connected through webs 25 and brackets 24 to one port 7 of a three-port casing 7, 16, 27. The webs 25 bend to permit the transverse movement of the shaft 18 and the bearings 2 (or 23), one interconnected by struts 4. The transverse movement of the shaft 18 is limited by studs 19. Specification 938,935 is referred to. |
