The present invention relates to a system and a method for reducing a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). The present invention aims to reduce an input PAPR of an amplifier with only a limiter circuit and an IM cancelation circuit without an expensive digital signal processing unit for processing digital signals, and also aims to compensate distortion of AM-AM and AM-PM properties of a terminal transistor resulted from non-linear properties of a diode by using IM cancelation. To this end, the system includes: a distributing unit which divides an input signal into 1/2 power and distributes the power; a clipping unit which clips a portion of a main signal distributed by the distributing unit; a sampling coupler which couples a portion of the main signal including a distortion element output through the clipping unit; a first vector modulation unit which adjusts a phase and amplitude of the main signal distributed by the distributing unit; a combining unit which combines a coupling signal, including the distortion element output through the sampling coupler, with the main signal, which has been output through the first vector modulation unit and has a reverse phase and adjusted amplitude; a second modulation unit which adjusts a phase and amplitude of the combined signal output by the combining unit; an output coupler which outputs the main signal with compensated distortion by coupling a signal including the distortion element output through clipping unit with the combined signal from which the distortion element, with an adjusted phase and adjusted amplitude output by the second vector modulation unit is extracted only. |
