<p>A safety barrier fence is disclosed comprising an elongate rail with uprights (208) secured at an upper end to the rail and at a lower end to a ground anchor (201) offset from the racing side of the rail. A lower end of the upright (208) is separable from its associated ground anchor (201) in response to an impact load in a direction parallel to the rail. A bottom fitting (205) of the upright (208) is attached to the ground anchor (201) via first (209, 212) and second (210, 214) formations which extend up from the anchor (201) to engage the bottom fitting (205). The barrier is suitable for use surrounding horse racing tracks or similar.</p> |
