1. A method of producing a serum for selectively preventing or mitigating an immune response condition or disease in a patient animal, said method comprising the steps of:
pre-treating at least one donor animal with a diet and immunization regimen designed to optimize blood levels of one or more components associated with healthy immune system response mechanisms that prevent or mitigate aberrant inflammation; drawing blood from said at least one donor animal; permitting said blood to clot, thereby producing clotted blood comprising a liquid material and a cellular material; separating said liquid material from said cellular material, wherein said factors associated with healthy immune system response mechanisms are present in said liquid material; and concentrating said liquid material into a concentrated serum product.
