An insertion apparatus is equipped with an insertion part having a bending part, and an operating part body linked to the proximal end side of the insertion part. The operating part body has a first surface and a second surface that extends out from the first surface and stretches in a direction different from the direction of extension of the first surface. The second surface is located on a side for a finger other than the thumb of the holding hand. The operating part body has: a first bending operating part provided on the first surface and having a bending part to be bent in a first direction; function switches provided on the second surface, said switches operating prescribed functions of the insertion device; and a second bending operating part provided on the second surface, said second bending operating part being equipped with a rotating shaft, and having a bending part to be bent in a second direction by being rotated around the rotating shaft. The rotating shaft is positioned parallel to the longitudinal shaft of the operating body part and between two tangents to the function switches. |
