PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the transition of an external controller to a power saving state faster than before to achieve energy saving even when a job is processed, which takes time from the completion of transmission of Video data to an image forming apparatus to the completion of printing in the image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An external controller 102 measures the time from the reception of a print job through the creation of Video data to the completion of transmission of the Video data to an image forming apparatus 103 (process time: 803 in Fig. 7) (S903), predicts the time required for the completion of printing of the Video data in the image forming apparatus 103 (printing time: 804 in Fig. 7) (S906), and when the printing time exceeds the process time (Yes in S906), after the lapse of a prescribed time (802 in Fig. 7) from the completion of transmission of the Video data to the image forming apparatus 103 (S907), makes a transition of the external controller 102 from a normal state to a power saving state (S910). |
