PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transportation device which enables reduction in power consumption by reducing the energy that operates a moving member.SOLUTION: A sheet transportation device includes a transportation member that transports a sheet by rotation, a moving member 14 movable between a first guide position and a second guide position, a first abutment part which stops the moving member at the first guide position, a second abutment part which stops the moving member at the second guide position, and a planetary gear mechanism 70. The planetary gear mechanism includes a first rotational element 52 which can rotate in a first direction and a second direction being opposite to the first direction, a second rotational element 53 which rotates the transportation member by being rotated by the first rotation element, and a third rotational element 54 which moves the moving member from the second guide position to the first guide position by being rotated by the first rotational element which rotates in the first direction, and, moves the moving member from the second guide position to the first guide position by being rotated by the first rotational element which rotates in the second direction. |
