The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for removing entrails from an abdominal cavity of poultry which is suspended by its legs in a first conveyor. The apparatus comprises an evisceration tool which is movable into and out of the abdominal cavity of the poultry for removing the entrails from the abdominal cavity; a gripping means for gripping the entrails after removing the entrails from the abdominal cavity; and a lifting means for removing the entrails from the abdominal cavity and then introducing into under the evisceration tool, and, also arranged to perform relative upward movement with respect to the evisceration tool. In addition, the entrails are lifted up from the evisceration tool and the evisceration tool can grip the entrails under the lifting means. |
