<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that performs comparison, when comparing image data with read data, with a rectangle created in consideration of an error that may occur in an image forming apparatus or an image reading device, and the amount of movement defined by the difference between rectangular images and position relationship between the rectangular images.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: receiving means for receiving image data and read data; extraction means for dividing one of the image data and read data with the size of a rectangle created according to an error that may occur in an image forming apparatus or an image reading device so as to extract a plurality of rectangular images; first searching means for selecting a part of the rectangular images, setting a search range, and searching for a corresponding position of the rectangular image in the other image; estimating means for estimating a corresponding position of the rectangular image in the other image on the basis of the corresponding position of the rectangular image in the other image; second searching means for searching for a corresponding position of the rectangular image in the other image using the above-mentioned position as a reference; and comparing means for comparing the extracted rectangular image with an image resulting from the search.</p> |
