APPARATUS FOR ROBOTIC SURGERY

Surgical apparatus is described that comprises a surgical robot (2) having a moveable arm (6) for carrying a surgical tool. The apparatus also comprises x-ray imaging apparatus that includes at least one of an x-ray source (26; 202) and an x- ray detector (28; 84; 200; 222; 250). The moveable arm (6) of the surgical robot (2) is configured to carry at least one of the x-ray source (26; 202) and the x-ray detector(28; 84; 200; 222; 250). In this manner, the surgical robot (2) can be used to perform x-ray imaging to allow patient (30) registration. Methods of using the apparatus are also described.
