A railway-vehicle axle bearing comprises a steel bushing 5, having a bearing metal lining 6, which surrounds a steel sleeve 3, secured to the axle 2, and extends over an angle of 200 to 270 degrees. The bushing 5 is held in position by longitudinal strips 7 bolted to the bearing body 4. End thrust is taken by a part-annular bearing-member 10 on the end-face of the bearing-body 4 engaging a bearing-metal layer 9 on an abutment disc 8 secured by bolts to the end of the axle 2. |
