PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in display quality of a liquid crystal display device, and reduce the power consumption.SOLUTION: A driving method for a liquid crystal display device includes displaying a pixel by applying voltage to a liquid crystal element with the polarity of the voltage inverted to each other in a first frame period and a second frame period, which are successive frame periods. In the first frame period and the second frame period, compensation processing for compensating the voltage applied to the liquid crystal element is performed when an image in the first frame period and an image in the second frame period are determined as still images after comparison between the image in the first frame period and the image in the second frame period and when the absolute value of the voltage applied to the liquid crystal element in the first frame period and the absolute value of the voltage applied to the liquid crystal element in the second frame period are different.
