Method for recording a line scan image

The method involves moving a printing element on a line sensor. A recording interval (deltaT) is adjusted to moving velocity (V) of the printing element such that a line of the printing element is received during the recording interval. Lighting of the printing element is reduced when the moving velocity of the printing element falls below a predetermined nominal velocity. The printing element is illuminated during certain periods within the recording interval for reducing the lighting such that a line image is created with the reduced lighting. An independent claim is also included for an imaging device for capturing an image.
