The guide roller (1) comprises a bearing mount (3), a bearing journal at each of two ends, a roller core, and a roller shell. Each bearing journal is provided with a plain bearing that is designed as a hollow journal and is connected to a coolant supply line to conduct a coolant through the hollow journal into a coolant channel or to conduct the coolant out of the coolant channel. The plain bearing is lubricated by the coolant. The shell is disposed on the roll core. The roller core has a helical coolant channel connected to the coolant supply line for passing the coolant through the roller. The hollow journal is present in communication with the helical coolant channel via a radial connecting channel. The channel in the plain bearing or the connecting channel in a center of the roll core is dimensioned such that the channel surrounds the outer end face of the bearing so that the coolant flows between the plain bearing and the bearing mount and to the roll core to provide lubrication, cooling and/or flushing the bearing. The plain bearing and bearing journal are made of same piece. An independent claim is included for a roller assembly for a strand casting system. |
