<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyacrylonitrile-based copolymer simultaneously satisfying excellent flameproofing reaction promotion and excellent carbon fiber properties; and to provide a method for manufacturing carbon fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The polyacrylonitrile-based copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing acrylonitrile with dimethylaminopropylacrylamide and/or dimethylaminopropylmethacrylamide, wherein when acrylonitrile is contained in≥95 mol%, and dimethylaminopropylacrylamide and/or dimethylaminopropylmethacrylamide is contained in 0.05 to 2.5 mol%, the exothermic initiation temperature T as measured by a differential scanning calorimeter is preferably≤210°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
