<p>An electronic lock (1) has access to a list of predetermined operating codes (100), wherein a first one of the list of predetermined operating codes (101) is designated as an active code. On receipt of the active code, the electronic lock is configured to actuate between a locked state and an unlocked state. The lock is further configured to receive a second one of the list of predetermined operating codes (102) which can then be designated to be the active code, such that the electronic lock is configured on receipt of said second code to actuate the electronic lock between the locked state and the unlocked state. The codes maybe stored in a memory (10). A processor (12) is used to compare the input codes (11) with the list of codes. The lock may include a code entry interface which maybe a keypad, touch sensitive pad, dial or remote sensing device. In a particular embodiment the lock is used for student lockers.</p> |
