The present invention relates to a genetic marker for predicting eye muscle area in Hanwoo (Korean cattle), a kit, a microarray, and a method for predicting eye muscle area in Hanwoo using the same and, more specifically, to a method for predicting eye muscle area in Hanwoo by measuring the expression of muscle fat-specific matrix metallopeptidase 3 (MMP3), matrix metallopeptidase 7 (MMP7), and integrin, alpha 7 (ITGA7) gene which are correlated to the eye muscle area in Hanwoo. The genetic marker for predicting eye muscle are in Hanwoo, the kit, the microarray, and the method for predicting eye muscle area in Hanwoo using the same according to the present invention are used to predict and determine eye muscle area in Hanwoo in advance, thus the gene marker for detecting the expression of a gene specific to muscle fat tissues in Hanwoo can be used to control fat concentration in Hanwoo produced. |
