The present invention discloses a train speed control apparatus. According to the present invention, the control apparatus estimates the future train speed, determines a first speed control input based on the time-to-speed-limit crossing (TTSLC) which means the time a train takes to excess the automatic train protection (ATP) speed limit from the current point to control the speed of a train, and determines a second speed control input based on the speed error which is the difference between the current speed of the train and the ATP speed profile to control the speed of the train. Then, the control apparatus selects either the first or second speed control input according to the TTSLC to and outputs the selected value to the train. |
