The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for power control in a wireless power transmitting system. The method includes: a step to deliver wireless power using a wireless power receiver located in the charging area through at least one primary coil; a step to receive a signal including CEP to carry power control related information from the wireless power receiver through the primary coil; a step to operate a CEP timer to check whether the CEP is received within the certain time; a step to count the interrupt to occur when decoding the signal received from the primary coil; and a step to control the wireless power delivery to the wireless power receiver and the delivery stop through the primary coil based on the CEP timer and the interrupt count. But, the CEP timer has the characteristic to be initiated by receiving the CEP. According to the invention, the wireless power transmitting system can additionally determine whether the wireless power receiver is located in the charging area and continue to perform charging even though a CEP packet is not delivered from the wireless power receiver during a certain period or longer.
