The invention relates to a method and system for measuring vibrations in an object (4, 9), said method comprising the following steps: capturing an image using a camera (1), said camera (1) having an acquisition frequency of at least double the vibration frequency to be registered; selecting a region of interest within the captured image defining a scene (2); quantifying the number of pixels that vary in the scene (2); and determining the existence of a vibration pattern by applying a Fourier transform to the scene (2), as well as calculating the frequency of said vibration pattern.
