<p>Provided is a method for measuring the mass of a component using a fluidic device. The method comprises the steps of contacting a fluid flow in a fluidic device with a gas flow at a flow outlet of the microfluidic device to generate a directed spray comprising the component; and permitting the spray to contact a balance, and optionally recording the mass, such as the change in mass over time. Also provided is an apparatus for measuring the mass of a component, the apparatus comprising a microfluidic device having a fluid flow channel with a fluid flow outlet and a gas flow channel with a gas outlet, wherein the fluid flow outlet and the gas flow outlet are arranged to provide a directed spray of fluid from the fluid flow outlet; and a balance provided in the path of the directed spray.</p> |
