An operation method of a timing controller to communicate with a host through MIPI and with a display panel module through a display interface comprises steps of: storing an image data compressed by one of the host and the timing controller in a frame memory; cancelling the compression of image data stored in the frame memory; and performing a panel self-refresh for the display panel module by using an image data of which compression is cancelled.
