PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for, even when a search object detected once fades out from a display screen, notifying a user of which direction the search object is located in when viewed from the display screen in a displayed article search device.SOLUTION: A search system for searching a search object article which a user wants to search from a displayed article group includes: consecutive photographing means for consecutively photographing a displayed article group; image display means for successively displaying a photographic image at a display terminal; identification means for individually identifying displayed articles; acceptance means for accepting a search key for search; displayed article detection means for detecting the search object article corresponding to the search key; direction detection means for detecting a direction of the search object article when viewed from a display terminal from the detected search object article and the consecutively photographed displayed article group; and direction display means for allowing the display terminal to specifically display the detected direction of the search object article.
