METHODS OF HYDROGEN PRODUCTION USING PLANTS INCLUDING STARCH

The present invention relates to a hydrogen producing method. The hydrogen producing method includes the steps of: (a) grinding a plant including starch; (b) culturing Thermococcusonnurineus strains in the ground plant; and (c) separating and purifying hydrogen from the culture. The present invention proves the Thermococcusonnurineus strains can liberate starch from the plant to be used as an energy source as well as being capable of producing hydrogen by using the purified starch. Accordingly, the strains can produce hydrogen not only from potatoes but also from any other plants including starch.
