The present invention relates to a mobile terminal which can recognize fingerprints, and to a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the mobile terminal comprises: a display unit receiving at least one fingerprint; and a control unit judging that at least one received fingerprint accords with a fingerprint of a main user to the terminal or a fingerprint of a fingerprint-registered user who whose fingerprint is registered in the terminal besides the main user, and controls at least one among the terminals or the terminals to the fingerprint-registered user according to the judged result.
