<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine that prevents a reduction in engine output due to an air blow generated when a ring gear is rotated. <P>SOLUTION: An engine includes a flywheel 2 arranged behind a crankcase 1, a ring gear 3 mounted on the flywheel, and a pinion gear 5 of a starter motor 4 engaged with the ring gear at the start of the engine. When an air cleaner 8 is arranged on the engine lateral side located on the downstream side of an air blow 7 generated by the rotation 6 of the ring gear, a wind shield plate 9 is provided on the engine lateral sidewall 17 so as to block the air blown from the ring gear to the engine lateral side by the wind shield plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
