A device for non-invasive determination of intra-ocular pressure comprising a case 5 with a chamber 10 having a flexible membrane 4 for contacting the cornea 2 of a subject's eye at one end and a transparent piece 6 allowing observation of the membrane 4 at the other. The pressure inside the chamber 10 may be regulated via external means via pressure ports 7 8 which can be used to either increase or decrease the pressure in the chamber. This thereby exerts a pressure via the flexible membrane on the cornea and the flexible membrane that result in a deflection of the cornea. The flexible membrane has concentric patterns (4a Fig 3) on it allowing the deflection to be measured. The device may be used to aid early detection of glaucoma. |
