<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal element with which the occurrence of light leakage current can be suppressed, even in a structure in which supplementary capacity electrodes are placed on thin film transistors. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display element consists of thin film transistors 8 with supplementary capacity electrodes 11 on the upper surfaces of the thin film transistors 8.
