Disclosed are a video communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: acquiring configuration information of a terminal with whom the video communication is performed; selecting, according to the configuration information, the corresponding camera resolution as the resolution used to collect the video; and collecting the video according to the resolution used to collect the video and sending the video to the object terminal. With the video communication method and apparatus according to the embodiments of the present invention, the resolution used by the local camera to collect the video is automatically matched according to the configuration information of the object terminal, and the object terminal does not need to perform unidirectional tension or compression, or clipping on the received video, thereby avoiding the veracity reduction of the picture and improving user experience. |
