Provided is a method for changing an operating frequency for performing dynamic voltage frequency scaling with respect to a central processing unit included in a system on-chip. The method for changing the operating frequency comprises the steps of: detecting a previous maximum peak load of the central processing unit in a history period of dynamic voltage frequency scaling when the operating frequency of the central processing unit is determined to be increased; and applying the increased operating frequency calculated, based on the previous maximum peak load of the central processing unit, to the central processing unit.
