The present invention relates to an electronic device and method for controlling power, which are provided to keep the heating temperature generated according to use of a power amplifier, low, to remove displeasure of the user, and to extend the lifespan of an electronic device. The method for controlling power of the present invention is provided by comprising the steps of: sending an amplified signal by using a first power amplifier; identifying the heating temperature of the first power amplifier corresponding to the amplification of the signal; controlling the switching with a second power amplifier corresponding to the comparison between the heating temperature and a previously determined threshold; and amplifying and sending the signal by using the second power amplifier with the controlled switching. |
