To prevent overspeeding of a prime moveralternator combination A, B, on the load being thrown off through the opening of a circuitbreaker D, the breaker is prevented from being opened until a governor or emergency stop valve is almost closed, or the electrical load as sensed by a wattmetric relay J is at a low value, by a contact J1 serially connected with the breaker tripping coil D1. An alarm may be operated by a coil M as soon as the tripping conditions are initiated, irrespective of whether J1 is closed. The contact J1 may alternatively be closed by a closing movement of the engine fuel or steam governor. Where more than one valve reduces the fuel supply, contacts on each valve may be parallel connected.</p> |
