PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat assisted magnetic device applied to a recording head.SOLUTION: A heat assisted magnetic device 300 includes: a magnetic head; and an overcoat 303 positioned over at least a near-field transducer 305 of the magnetic head. The overcoat 303 comprises an inner layer 307 comprising oxides of yttrium, oxides of scandium, oxides of lanthanoids, oxides of actinoids, or oxides of zinc, and an outer layer 309 comprising aluminum oxide, silicon oxide, tantalum oxide, or hafnium oxide. |
