PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical solution capable of improving reliability in opening a switch device capable of reducing a cubic volume and cutting a phase of an electrically assisted steering electric motor.SOLUTION: A method for discharging energy stored in a stator (1) of an electric motor, in particular, a steering assisted electric motor of an automobile is disclosed. The stator (1) includes at least one electrical phase (12, 14, 16) and a state of disconnecting the phase (12, 14, 16) from a control device (30) of the stator (1) is controlled by switch devices (20, 21 and 23) each including at least one field effect transistor (22).
