摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure acceleration responsiveness while suppressing the generation of a shock at clutch engagement.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises, at a traveling control ECU 1, a coasting control part which blocks power transmission between an engine 10 and drive wheels W, and makes a vehicle coast-travel by releasing a clutch 30 during normal traveling, and a return control part which performs the output control of the engine 10, and the complete engagement control of the clutch 30 when a return condition to the normal traveling from coast traveling is established. The return control part performs the down-shift control of an automatic transmission 20 so that a rise gradient of a rotation number of a second engagement part 32 at the automatic transmission 20 side accompanied by a down-shift is synchronized with a rise gradient of a rotation number of a first engagement part 31 at the engine 10 side when the return condition is established, and there is a down-shift requirement of the automatic transmission 20, and when the rotation number of the first engagement part 31 is synchronized with the rotation number of the second engagement part 32, or when it is considered that both the rotation numbers are synchronized with each other, the clutch 30 is completely engaged.
