<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a composite material at a low cost in a short manufacturing period.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a composite material according to one aspect of the present invention is a method using a free casting method that includes: a step of installing a shape determination member 102 determining a sectional shape of a casting M3 to be cast, near a molten metal surface of molten metal M1 held in a holding furnace 101; and a step of welding the molten metal M1 to a drawing member (starter ST) drawing up the molten metal M1, and passing the drawn molten metal drawn by the drawing member through the shape determination member 102, comprises: a step of forming an opening 50 in a thickness direction of the drawn molten metal M1 by an opening forming member (molten-metal shield plate 110); a step of vacuuming the molten metal from the opening 50 by a vacuuming device 121 coupled to the drawing member; and a step of adhesively bonding carbon fiber to a casting M3 by adhesive while the drawing member draws the molten metal M1.</p> |
