PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator capable of contributing to downsizing and weight saving of a rotary electric machine.SOLUTION: A stator S includes: a stator core 10 including a plurality of slots 12 radially extending while being opened inwards at a plurality of positions in a circumferential direction; and a positive winding group 22a (first U-phase winding group 20Ua) including a plurality of windings r1-r3 formed by winding wire of an equilateral triangle cross section around the stator core 10 in a wavy winding manner so as to pass a plurality of specific slots 12 among the plurality of slots 12. The windings r1-r3 are inserted into the slot 12 while being arranged in one line in a radial direction of the stator core 10 so as to abut the sides with each other, and arrayed on an axial end face of the stator core 10 in the axial direction in such a manner that a cross-sectional shape as the entire positive winding group 22a becomes a trapezoid or a parallelogram.
