PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiwear hydraulic fluid composition that exhibits excellent emulsification and rust-prevention properties.SOLUTION: Provided is an antiwear hydraulic fluid composition comprising (a) a major amount of base oil having a lubricating viscosity and (b) a minor amount of at least one oil-soluble detergent additive comprising a salt of alkyl-substituted hydroxy benzoic acid or sulfurized derivative thereof, and in which the salt is selected from a group consisting of alkali metal salt, alkaline earth metal salt, ammonium salt, or substituted ammonium salt, and further has a carboxylate index exceeding the disclosed level. |
