PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical type pneumatic fender and a monitoring method thereof, capable of further stably securing the function of the fender, by preventing a weight connected to the lower side of a fender body from dropping to the water bottom.SOLUTION: The vertical type pneumatic fender comprises a fender body 2 with a bowl-shaped mirror part 4 joined to both ends in the cylinder axial direction of a cylindrical trunk part 3 and a weight 7 connected to the lower side of the fender body 2, and a preliminary chain 9 is provided in the vertical type pneumatic fender 1 for storing ballast water W in an inside space of the fender body 2, and one end part 9a of the preliminary chain 9 is connected to a position eccentric to a shaft core line CL of the fender body 2, and the other end part is connected to the weight 7, and the fender body 2 and the weight 7 are connected in a loosened state of the preliminary chain 9, and an inclination of an axial orthogonal reference line 3a and an axial parallel reference line 3b provided in a range positioned on the water of an outer peripheral surface of the fender body 2, is detected by a reference line detector. |
