PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an image processing method that can output an image of high picture quality such that granularity is inconspicuous in a low-density region and density variation is not a problem in an intermediate density region fast through processing with a relatively low load.SOLUTION: Generating means determines a first threshold for formation of dots of a first dither pattern based upon first multi-value data and second multi-value data, and generates first binary data according to whether a threshold corresponding to an object pixel of the first dither pattern is included in the first threshold. Further, the generating means determines a second threshold for formation of dots of a second dither pattern based upon the second multi-value data and first multi-value data, and generates second binary data according to whether a threshold corresponding to an object pixel of the second dither pattern is included in the second threshold.
