PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occlusion device which shows increased flexibility between a disk shape part and a cylindrical body part for better alignment of the disk shape part to an aperture, and to improve the retention of, particularly, a single disk occlusion device.SOLUTION: A vascular occlusion device 10 is fabricated from a braided tubular woven metal fabric. The woven metal fabric has a preset expanded configuration and an elongated reduced diameter configuration for delivery through a catheter to a treatment site and is shaped to create an occlusion of an abnormal opening in a body organ or a vessel in a body. The woven metal fabric has a memory property having a tendency to return to the preset expanded configuration when unconstrained. The vascular occlusion device includes at least one disk shape part 14 adjacent to a cylindrical body part 12 formed of the woven metal fabric and a transition diameter part (H) between the cylindrical body part and the disk shape part 14, and the diameter part is significantly smaller than a diameter of the cylindrical body part and a diameter of the disk shape part. |
