The purpose of the present invention is to provide a powdered gyro-light-type calcium silicate having a comparatively large particle diameter and also having high oil absorbency and high particle strength.　This powdered gyro-light-type calcium silicate is characterized by: (1) having an oil absorbency of at least 2.8 mL/g; (2) having an average particle diameter of at least 40 µm; and (3) the change in the average particle diameter between before processing and after processing being no more than 15%, said processing being the insertion of the gyro-light-type calcium silicate to a laser diffraction particle size distribution meter such that the DV value becomes 0.1-0.6, and circulating same for 5 minutes at a flow rate of 32.5 mL/sec.
