PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process that allows production of a fluorine-containing biaryl compound comprising a fluorine atom at the ortho position, using an inexpensive starting material, under economically advantageous conditions and in an efficient manner.SOLUTION: A process capable of obtaining a fluorine-containing biaryl compound in a high reaction yield comprises reacting an aromatic boronic acid compound comprising a fluorine atom at the ortho position or a cyclic trimer thereof with an aromatic chloride represented by a specific general formula in a water-containing solvent under heating in the presence of a palladium catalyst and a tertiary amine compound.
