The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for transmitting a small cell discovery signal in a wireless communication system. The present specification provides the method for transmitting the small cell discovery signal which comprises the steps of: generating a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) sequence; mapping the generated CRS sequence to a time-frequency resource space; generating the small cell discovery signal having a predetermined cycle and a predetermined offset from the mapped CRS sequence; and transmitting the generated small cell discovery signal to a terminal, wherein the generated CRS sequence is mapped to the time-frequency resource space in one of multiple different patterns within one subframe according to a unique number of a base station, and the small cell discovery signal has one offset selected by higher layer signaling among at least two different offsets. |
