A shift device (1) which can be produced at reduced cost and which allows a shift position to be specified without complex processing.  A shift device is provided with a shift lever (31) which is tilted to a first direction (top-bottom direction) and is also tilted to a second direction (left-right direction) crossing the first direction, and the shift position of the shift lever is set according to the conditions of tilt of the shift lever (31) in the first and second directions.  The shift device is provided with a rotation member (34) which is rotated by a rotation angle of ? degrees as the shift lever (31) is tilted in the first direction and is rotated by a rotation angle of d degrees, which is less than the rotation angle ?, as the shift lever (31) is tilted in the second direction, and also with a rotation angle detecting means (magnetism sensor (6)) for detecting the rotation angle of the rotation member (34).
