An edge-lighting type LED surface light source lighting apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a main frame having a first opening for transmitting light; a light source installed on the lateral side of the main frame; a light guide plate which is installed on the main frame for changing light emitted from the light source in a first opening direction; a reflective plate which touches the light guide plate to reflect the light in the light source in the first opening direction; a diffusion plate which touches the light guide plate to face the reflective plate for diffusing light emitted from the light guide plate in the first opening direction; a back plate which touches the reflective plate; and a sub-frame which includes a pressing part which pressurizes the first opening, a second opening opposite to the first opening, and the edge of the back plate, and a combination part which is extended to the pressing part and is combined with the main frame.
