<p>An interface module 30 receives status data for service points 12-16 via a link e.g. USB port with a secure transaction system 18 collecting transaction and payment data from the service points, the interface module generating a code based on the status data and providing the code to a queue management system 10 via a wireless link. A sensor 11 may detect a customer 20 at the head of the queue. The secure transaction system may be a conventional payment system on a server in a restricted access area 19. The status data may indicate that a financial transaction has been concluded, indicating the service point is about to become available and may include a service point or zone identifier and indication of available or unavailable status of the service point and may give information such as cash only. The code may be a predetermined code selected based on the status data or may be generated in accordance with a predefined syntax. Data is only relayed if it conforms to the predefined code or sytax, therefore the module 30 does not provide an access route to the secure transaction system 18. The status data does not include any sensitive payment information.</p> |
