The present invention relates to an azimuth thruster, and comprises: a strut joined to a ship hull which can be rotated; a pod in a streamlined form joined to a lower part of the strut; a propeller shaft of which one end passes through a shaft hole formed on the pod, extending towards an exterior; a propeller joined to one end of the propeller shaft; a duct joined to the strut which covers the propeller; and a fluid dispersion unit installed in the end of the pod. A fluid dispersion body, in a hemisphere form, is formed towards the opposite direction of the propulsion and a plurality of fluid dispersion pins are formed on the exterior circumferential surface of the fluid dispersion body to disperse a flow of the fluid which collides with the fluid dispersion body to allow a more consistent fluid to be injected into a duct due to the fluid dispersion body, and to reduce the speed of the injection of the fluid; thus increasing the efficiency of propulsion from the advancing ratio of the azimuth thruster when the ship hull is propelled with the thruster. In addition, a fluid dispersion body which has a larger diameter than that of the hub of the propeller further disperses the flow of the fluid; thus increasing the efficiency of propulsion when the ship hull is propelled. |
