920,900. Baby pacifiers. J. D. ROUNTREE. Jan. 9, 1962 [March 29, 1961], No. 788/62. Class 81 (2). A device for discouraging a child from sucking a pacifier comprises a teat which may be progressively drawn within a hollow body. In the form described the teat 11 is mounted on a member 17 which, by means of diametrically placed slots 18 engaging guides 16, may be moved longitudinally in the cylindrical space within a body 10. An adjusting screw 20 which is threaded through an axial hole in the member 17 is held against axial movement by a transverse wall 14 and an annular retaining insert 25 so that rotation of the screw may move the teat from a fully extended position to one in which it is completely enclosed within the body 10. |
